This is a very eye catching ornamental piece by Sculptures UK, cast in sold resin then individually hand finished right down to the smallest detail. This item is an identical copy of the actual Commando monument located in the Scottish Highlands, the photo here does not do it much justice and certainly does not highlight much of the detail that is incorporated in to this piece. This is a very good quality figurine made to a very high standard, the overall height of this item is 9 inches and it comes packed in it's own protective box.

An excellent gift for a collector of all things Scottish.

The actual monument is located in Mooreland 1¼ miles northwest of Spean Bridge not far from Fort William in the Scottish highlands. The monument stands 17-feet high and has three soldiers standing on the plinth looking out over the moor to the peaks of Aonach Mor and Ben Nevis. It commemorates the elite force known as the 'Commandos', set up in 1940 and trained in the area around this monument.

The motto on the monument reads "United We Conquer" and a plaque has the words: "In Memory of the Officers and men of the Commandos who died in the Second World War 1939 - 1945. This Country was their Training Ground."
